Meet the team ↗Questions you may be asking.
What is a trademark cancellation?
It is a proceeding before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) asking it to cancel all or part of a federal trademark registration.
Does cancellation stop someone from using a name?
The TTAB decides registration rights. It does not award damages or issue an order stopping use. A broader dispute may require a separate enforcement strategy.
Can any registration be challenged?
The available grounds depend on the registration, its age, and the facts. Some claims are time-limited, so reviewing the registration history matters.
What should I bring to the initial review?
Share the registration number, any petition or USPTO refusal, correspondence, and records showing how and when you have used your mark. Flag any known deadline.
